The Aikikai is the world's largest and most established Aikido organization, based in Tokyo, Japan, the birthplace of Aikido. The organization continues the tradition begun by Aikido founder Morihei Ueshiba and is today led by his grandson, Moriteru Ueshiba (Dōshu).

The Role and Importance of Aikikai

The Aikikai is the official body that maintains and advances Aikido standards worldwide. Organizations offering Aikido training must be affiliated with the Aikikai to be recognized internationally. This ensures that Aikido's technical, ethical, and philosophical values are preserved and that misapplications are prevented.
